Basic Alpaca Care

Just bought your first herd of alpacas? Looking to buy alpacas or just want to learn more about them? We have the perfect training course for you. 

Our Basic Alpaca Care Course will give you a good undertanding of these beautiful animals and how to care for them. The course includes: how to put on a halter, handle and walk the animals. How to body score, cut toe nails, check teeth and membrances. 

Husbandry and Handling advanced

It is advised to undertake the Basic Alpaca Care Course before undertaking this training. This course covers everything you need to know to equip you to become an alpaca owner.  Through undertaking this course you will gain all the skills and knowledge you need to have your very own herd. 

Our Husbandry and Handling Advanced Course includes haltering and handeling  in more depth and how to train your alpacas to walk on a lead. You will learn about feeding and nutrition and gain lots of practice and a greater understanding of all husbandry tasks that are required including injections. By the end of the course you will know what husbandry tasks need to be done and when, how to look out for signs of ill health  and the general every day care of these beautiful animals.
